Technical Regulations of the Customs Union “Electromagnetic Compatibility of Technical Devices”

Since 25 February 2013, the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union “Electromagnetic Compatibility of Technical Means”; (TR CU 020/2011) have entered into force. We at EasyGOST take care of the certification of your products that fall within this scope.

Electrical devices often generate electromagnetic interference and thus interfere with the functioning of other devices. In addition, they can even be susceptible to such disturbances themselves. Before goods of this type can be supplied or sold, they must be tested for electromagnetic compatibility with the requirements of the TR CU 020/2011 regulations.

Scope of application of the regulations

TR CU 020/2011 contains all technical means which generate electromagnetic interference and/or are themselves susceptible to interference. These form the following groups:

Electrical and household appliances
for preparation and storage of food and mechanization of many kitchen tasks;
for processing (washing, ironing, drying, cleaning) laundry, clothing and footwear:
- for cleaning and tidying up rooms;
- on assanier and hygienic measures;
- for temperature control of the living climate in the rooms;
- for hair, nail and skin care;
- for heating the human body;
- vibromassage equipment;
- play, sports and fitness equipment;
- audio and video equipment, television and radio receivers;
- sewing and knitting machines;
- power supplies, chargers, voltage regulators;
- equipment for horticulture and vegetable growing;
- electric pumps;
- lighting devices and bodies;
- automatic circuit breaker with an electronic control device;
- residual current circuit breaker with an electronic control device;
- arc welding equipment.
Electronic personal data processing systems (personal computers).
Technical means connected to electronic personal data processing equipment:
- printers;
- monitors;
- scanner;
- uninterruptible power sources;
- active sound systems with power supply from the AC grid;
- multimedia projectors.
Electric tools (electric hand machines and portable electric machines).
Electric musical instruments.

The following devices are excluded from TR CU 020/2011:

which are passive with regard to electromagnetic compatibility;
which are used by manufacturers of technical means other than their components and are not intended for independent use;
which are not included in the harmonised list of products in respect of which binding requirements have been established within the framework of the Customs Union and approved by the Commission of the Customs Union.

The list of excluded products includes:

electric domestic heaters without automatic switches;
speakers and headphones without amplifier circuits;
induction motors;
some other devices;
cords, cables, conductors, cable connectors;
light bulbs;
electric accumulators and batteries;
passive television and radio antennas.

The Technical Regulation TR CU 020/2011 comprises:

requirements for their electromagnetic compatibility;
conformity assessment procedure with the regulations - certification and declaration;
labelling rules;
binding requirements for technical documentation;
rules for the movement on the market of technical means which generate electromagnetic disturbances and/or are themselves susceptible to them.
