EAC Certificate
The EAC Certificate is the official conformity document of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) confirming that a product complies with the applicable Technical Regulations of the EAEU. For many product categories, the certificate is mandatory and required for exporting and placing products on the markets of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. Without a valid EAC certificate, legally compliant customs clearance and market access are generally impossible.
An EAC certificate is issued by an accredited certification body within the EAEU. The certification process is based on the Technical Regulations of the EAEU (TR EAEU / TR CU), which define the applicable safety requirements, testing procedures and certification schemes. Depending on the product type, risk category and applicable regulation, conformity assessment may require testing in accredited laboratories, factory audits, document reviews and regular inspection controls.
Certification requirements most commonly apply to machinery, industrial equipment, electrical products, pressure equipment, explosion-protected products and other safety-related technical equipment. The requirements vary significantly depending on the applicable Technical Regulation. Therefore, correct product classification is essential for selecting the appropriate certification procedure. Incorrect classification frequently results in delays, additional costs or customs-related problems.
The validity period of an EAC certificate depends on the selected certification scheme. Batch certificates apply only to a specific shipment, while serial production certificates are typically issued for one to five years. During the validity period, regular inspection controls or audits may be required to confirm ongoing conformity.
Issuing an EAC certificate requires extensive technical documentation. This may include technical files, operating instructions, test reports, risk assessments, safety justifications and product classification data. In addition, many documents must be translated into Russian and comply with formal EAEU documentation requirements.
We support manufacturers and exporters throughout the complete EAC certification process — from product classification and selection of the appropriate certification scheme to coordination of testing, audits and document reviews. This ensures legally compliant and reliable market access to the Eurasian Economic Union.
