EAC
EAC stands for “Eurasian Conformity” and represents the official conformity system of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The system regulates conformity assessment, certification, declaration and marking of products intended for distribution within the EAEU.
The Eurasian Economic Union includes:
- Russia,
- Belarus,
- Kazakhstan,
- Armenia,
- and Kyrgyzstan.
The EAC marking confirms that a product complies with the applicable Technical Regulations of the EAEU (TR EAEU / TR CU) and may legally be placed on the market within the common economic area.
The EAC system primarily serves:
- product safety,
- harmonization of technical regulations,
- standardization of regulatory requirements,
- and free movement of goods within the EAEU.
The EAC conformity system includes:
- EAC Certification,
- EAC Declaration,
- EAC marking,
- Technical Documentation,
- testing procedures,
- as well as regulatory surveillance measures.
Product categories affected by EAC certification include:
- machinery,
- electrical equipment,
- industrial systems,
- pressure equipment,
- low-voltage equipment,
- explosion-protected products,
- packaging,
- chemicals,
- as well as many additional product categories.
The specific regulatory requirements strongly depend on the individual product, its intended use, technical characteristics and TN VED classification.
Depending on the product, requirements may include:
- an EAC Certificate,
- an EAC Declaration,
- laboratory testing,
- EMC testing,
- production surveillance,
- Safety Justifications,
- risk assessments,
- or governmental registrations.
Regulatory requirements are defined by the Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (TR EAEU / TR CU) and applicable GOST standards.
Products without valid EAC conformity assessment generally cannot be legally imported or sold within the EAEU. Missing or incorrect certification frequently results in:
- customs problems,
- import delays,
- regulatory findings,
- additional testing requirements,
- or rejection of goods at the border.
The EAC system is closely connected to:
- Technical Regulations,
- TN VED EAEU,
- EAC Certificates,
- EAC Declarations,
- Technical Documentation,
- Customs Clearance,
- as well as conformity assessment procedures.
