Certification Procedure

A Certification Procedure is the structured process used to evaluate and confirm a product’s compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). It includes all stages from product classification and technical assessment to the issuance of an EAC Certificate or the registration of an EAC Declaration. The Certification Procedure is a core element of EAC conformity assessment and a prerequisite for legal market access in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

The Eurasian Economic Union has established a unified system of Technical Regulations (TR EAEU / TR CU) that defines safety, quality and marking requirements for a wide range of product categories. The applicable Certification Procedure depends on the product type, its risk level and the relevant Technical Regulation.

A typical Certification Procedure includes:

Depending on the product category, additional requirements may apply, including Type Examination, Pressure Testing, EMC Testing, Explosion Protection Assessments or Material Testing.

Certification Procedures are conducted by accredited Certification Bodies and testing laboratories listed in the official EAEU accreditation system. The assessment results are documented and form the basis for the final conformity decision.

Incorrect product classification, incomplete Technical Documentation or missing test reports are among the most common causes of delays and non-conformities during the certification process.
