Technical Passport
A Technical Passport is a product-related document containing the essential technical characteristics, operating conditions and safety-related information of a product. Within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Technical Passport is a mandatory part of the technical documentation for many machines, devices, industrial systems and technical products and is often required for EAC certification and lawful market access.
The Eurasian Economic Union includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The Technical Regulations of the EAEU (TR EAEU / TR CU) require manufacturers to prepare Technical Passports for many product categories in accordance with applicable regulatory and normative requirements.
A Technical Passport typically contains:
- manufacturer information,
- product name and type designation,
- serial number,
- technical specifications,
- performance parameters,
- operating conditions,
- safety and warning information,
- warranty conditions,
- intended use information,
- as well as transportation, storage and maintenance requirements.
Depending on the product category, additional information regarding pressure ratings, electrical parameters, temperature ranges, explosion protection, materials or testing data may also be required.
From a regulatory perspective, the Technical Passport is usually based on applicable GOST standards and the corresponding Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union. The document forms an integral part of the Technical Documentation and is reviewed by accredited certification bodies during EAC conformity assessment procedures.
For machinery, industrial installations, pressure equipment, electrical devices and complex technical systems in particular, the Technical Passport is one of the key documents required for product approval within the EAEU.
For the EAEU market, the Technical Passport must generally be prepared in Russian language. Incorrect translations, incomplete technical specifications and inconsistent product data are among the most common causes of delays and non-conformities during certification procedures.
The Technical Passport is also closely connected to operating instructions, Safety Justifications, risk assessments and the complete Technical File. All documentation must remain technically and regulatorily consistent.
In practice, a professionally structured Technical Passport significantly accelerates certification procedures, reduces clarification requests from certification bodies and improves the legal protection of manufacturers and importers.
We support manufacturers and exporters in the complete preparation and regulatory adaptation of Technical Passports for EAC certification within the EAEU. Our services include technical data collection, compliant document structuring, professional Russian technical translations, regulatory review and coordination with accredited certification bodies and testing laboratories. This ensures legally compliant and reliable market access throughout the Eurasian Economic Union.
