Manufacturer Declaration
The Manufacturer Declaration is a document in which the Manufacturer provides or confirms specific information relating to a product, its technical characteristics or the fulfilment of certain requirements. It may form part of the Technical Documentation and may be used as supporting evidence within an EAC Conformity Assessment procedure.
The content and scope of a Manufacturer Declaration depend on its specific purpose and the requirements of the respective procedure. It may, for example, contain information about the manufacturer and the product as well as applicable standards, technical specifications, materials, safety-related characteristics, technical properties or production conditions.
Within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), a Manufacturer Declaration may be used as supporting technical documentation. It may, for example, form part of the documentation required for an EAC Certificate, an EAC Declaration or another Conformity Assessment procedure.
A Manufacturer Declaration does not, however, replace any conformity documents or technical documentation required by the applicable regulations. Depending on the product and procedure, these may include, for example:
- EAC Certificate,
- EAC Declaration,
- Test Report,
- Safety Justification,
- Technical Passport
- as well as other product-specific evidence.
In such cases, the Manufacturer Declaration serves as supporting evidence and may provide additional information relevant to the technical or regulatory assessment of a product.
For industrial products, machinery, electrical equipment and technical components in particular, a Manufacturer Declaration may be used to document additional information concerning design, characteristics, materials or intended conditions of use.
The information contained in the Manufacturer Declaration should be consistent with the other technical documents. Discrepancies relating to the product designation, type, manufacturer information or technical characteristics may result in additional queries during the conformity assessment procedure.
A Manufacturer Declaration may also provide supplementary information for the Certification Body. Whether such a declaration is required or suitable for a particular procedure depends on the specific product and the applicable regulatory requirements.
