EAC Approval

EAC Approval is a widely used practical term referring to various conformity assessment procedures within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Although the term is not officially defined in the Technical Regulations of the EAEU, it is commonly used to describe the regulatory authorization required for placing products on the market in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.

In most cases, EAC Approval refers to the successful completion of an EAC Certification procedure, the registration of an EAC Declaration, or other mandatory regulatory approval processes. Its purpose is to demonstrate that a product complies with the applicable Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (TR EAEU / TR CU).

The EAEU operates a harmonized regulatory framework that establishes mandatory requirements for product safety, quality, marking, and technical documentation. Products may only be placed on the market once all required conformity assessment procedures have been completed.

Depending on the product category, EAC Approval may include:

The applicable approval requirements depend on several factors, including:

  • product type,
  • risk category,
  • intended use,
  • applicable Technical Regulations,
  • and TN VED EAEU classification.

Products commonly requiring EAC Approval include:

  • machinery and industrial equipment,
  • electrical products,
  • pressure equipment,
  • personal protective equipment (PPE),
  • explosion-protected equipment,
  • chemicals,
  • and various consumer products.

Technical Documentation is a key component of every EAC Approval procedure. Typical documentation includes operating instructions, Technical Passports, safety justifications, test reports, risk assessments, and other supporting technical records.

Missing or incorrect approvals may result in:

  • import restrictions,
  • customs delays,
  • sales prohibitions,
  • market surveillance actions,
  • administrative penalties,
  • or product recalls.

For manufacturers, exporters, and importers, obtaining the correct EAC Approval is therefore essential for lawful and efficient market access within the Eurasian Economic Union.

We support companies with product classification, conformity assessment strategy, Technical Documentation, EAC Certification, EAC Declaration registration, and regulatory approval projects throughout the EAEU.
