Factory Audit
A Factory Audit is a systematic assessment of a manufacturing facility conducted by an accredited Certification Body or independent inspection organization. The objective is to evaluate production conditions, quality processes and organizational structures and verify compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Within certain EAC certification schemes, a Factory Audit is a mandatory element of conformity assessment. The audit verifies whether the manufacturer is capable of consistently producing products that comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
A Factory Audit typically includes:
- evaluation of manufacturing processes,
- assessment of quality control systems,
- review of Technical Documentation,
- inspection of testing and measuring equipment,
- analysis of organizational procedures,
- and verification of traceability systems.
Factory Audits are particularly relevant for:
- Serial Production Certification,
- machinery and industrial equipment,
- pressure equipment,
- electrical products,
- personal protective equipment,
- and other regulated product categories.
Audit results are documented in audit reports and form part of the decision-making process for issuing or maintaining an EAC Certificate.
