Material Certificate
A Material Certificate is the documented proof of the material composition and material properties of a product. It confirms that the materials used comply with the applicable safety, technical and regulatory requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Within EAC certification procedures, Material Certificates are an important part of the Technical Documentation and are required for legally compliant market access for many product categories.
The Eurasian Economic Union includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The Technical Regulations of the EAEU (TR EAEU / TR CU) require detailed information regarding materials, material properties and hazardous substance limits for many products.
A Material Certificate serves to:
- verify the material composition of a product,
- confirm the suitability of the materials used,
- fulfill safety and health requirements,
- comply with regulatory substance limits,
- and document the technical conformity of the product.
Depending on the product category, a Material Certificate may include:
- material test certificates,
- material declarations,
- chemical analyses,
- laboratory test reports,
- manufacturer declarations,
- alloy and material grade information,
- hazardous substance compliance evidence,
- as well as mechanical, thermal or chemical property data.
Material Certificates are particularly important for:
- machinery and industrial systems,
- pressure equipment,
- construction products,
- electrical equipment,
- food-contact materials,
- chemicals,
- medical devices,
- as well as explosion-protected products.
Regulatory requirements are defined by the Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union and applicable GOST standards. In many cases, materials must additionally be tested and confirmed by accredited laboratories.
The Material Certificate forms an integral part of the Technical Documentation and is reviewed by accredited certification bodies during EAC conformity assessment procedures.
Missing or incorrect Material Certificates may result in:
- certification delays,
- additional laboratory testing,
- regulatory findings,
- customs issues,
- or rejection of certification.
For safety-critical products in particular, regulatorily compliant material verification is essential for product safety and product approval within the EAEU.
Material Certificates are also closely connected to risk assessments, Safety Justifications, test reports and Technical Regulations. All information must remain technically and regulatorily consistent.
We support manufacturers and exporters in the complete preparation and regulatory review of Material Certificates for EAC certification within the EAEU. Our services include material evaluation, analysis of material test certificates, laboratory coordination, technical translations and coordination with accredited certification bodies and testing laboratories. This ensures legally compliant, efficient and reliable market access throughout the Eurasian Economic Union.
