Certification Body

A Certification Body is an officially accredited organization authorized to perform conformity assessments and issue EAC Certificates within EAC certification procedures. Certification Bodies play a central role in legally compliant market access within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), because only certificates issued by recognized accredited organizations are regulatorily valid.

The Eurasian Economic Union includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. Within this common market, accredited Certification Bodies supervise compliance with the Technical Regulations of the EAEU (TR EAEU / TR CU) and confirm the regulatory conformity of products.

A Certification Body evaluates, among other things:

The Certification Body decides whether:

For many product categories, Certification Bodies work closely with accredited testing laboratories performing safety testing, EMC testing, pressure testing or material analyses.

From a regulatory perspective, a Certification Body may only operate if it:

  • is officially accredited,
  • is listed in the official EAEU accreditation register,
  • and is authorized for the respective Technical Regulations and product categories.

The scope of each Certification Body is strictly defined. Not every organization is authorized to certify every product category. Therefore, selecting the correct Certification Body is essential for a legally compliant certification process.

Using an incorrect or non-accredited Certification Body may lead to serious consequences, including:

  • invalid certificates,
  • rejection during customs clearance,
  • regulatory findings,
  • additional testing costs,
  • export delays,
  • or rejection of goods at the border.

Certification Bodies are particularly important for machinery, industrial systems, electrical equipment, pressure equipment, explosion-protected products and other safety-critical product categories.

The work of Certification Bodies is closely connected to Technical Regulations, Technical Documentation, test reports, production surveillance and inspection controls. All regulatory evidence must be technically and formally evaluated in a consistent manner.

We support manufacturers, exporters and importers in selecting suitable accredited Certification Bodies within the EAEU. Our services include regulatory evaluation, selection of the appropriate certification scheme, testing coordination, technical documentation and cooperation with accredited testing laboratories and authorities. This ensures legally compliant, reliable and efficient market access throughout the Eurasian Economic Union.
